New Clients

Apply Yourself or Refer Somebody

Eligibility:

  • Age 60 or above

  • Homebound - Health issues and/or dependent on others for transportation

  • Unable to prepare meals & nobody availalble to prepare meals

What Do Meals Look Like?

A Registered Dietitian determines the menu. The catered meals exceed one-third of the recommended dietary allowance for older adults.

Sign Up on RSVP Call Back List

You'll Get:

  • Social Distancing safety protocols

  • Caravan on a route on your visit to the office

  • Set your own schedule of 1 day or more. A shift is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - that's a minimum of 2 hours a week.

  • Option to Substitute to fit within your schedule

  • Training and ongoing support

Then:

  • After the Caravan say "Yes!" to start your route.

Submit a Contact form to be placed on RSVP Call Back List. Calls will be made as volunteer positions become available or when the normal deliver schedule resumes.

Which cities do you deliver to?

Deliveries are made to clients living in Crockett, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Hercules, Kensington, North Richmond, Pinole, Point Richmond, Port Costa, Richmond, Rodeo, and San Pablo.

 

 

 

Requests to deliver near a specified city are accommodated to the best of our ability and based on delivery needs. Regardless, you'll return meal containers to the San Pablo office, which is centrally located in West Contra Costa.

Qualifications to Volunteer

  • Age 18 or over

  • Possess Driver's License

  • Possess automobile insurance

I don't drive or have a car, how could I deliver meals?

Be the passenger and pair with a friend to do the driving. You could navigate the route and place the meal at the client's door.

These are the few straightforward steps to deliver meals to clients. Meals on Wheels delivering is the perfect opportunity for retirees, collegiates, or people looking to gain community service experience. By delivering meals, you'll provide a human service to our community while getting personal satisfaction of helping others.

Drive and deliver meals to clients using social distancing

Return containers to the office
